West Bengal: Mamata Banerjee expands cabinet; Babul Supriyo among 9 inducted | Kolkata News – Times of India


KOLKATA/NEW DELHI: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday expanded her cabinet with the induction of nine new ministers.
The new faces are Babul Supriyo, Snehasis Chakraborty, Partha Bhowmick, Udayan Guha, Pradip Mazumder, Tajmul Hossain, Satyajit Barman, Birbaha Hansda and Biplab Roy Chowdhury.
Babul Supriyo, Snehasis Chakraborty, Pradip Majumdar, Partha Bhowmick and Udayan Guha are the new cabinet ministers.
Birbaha Hansda and Biplab Roy Chowdhury were sworn in as ministers with independent charges.
There are two ministers of state Tajmul Hussain and Satyajit Barman
For the swearing-in ceremony at Raj Bhavan, governor La Ganesan who is holding dual charge of Bengal and Manipur flew down from Imphal.
The CM had stated earlier that she would not hold the commerce and industry department which she took charge of after the Enforcement Directorate took Partha Chatterjee in custody in a money laundering case.
