Boxer Amit Panghal reached the semifinals at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham on Thursday.
Amit beat Scotland’s Lennon Mulligan 5-0 in the Men’s Flyweight quarterfinal to confirm a fourth medal for India in boxing.
In the semifinal, the Indian boxer will be up against Zambia’s Patrick Chinyemba, who beat Australian Alex Winwood via Knock Out in his quarterfinal
Earlier, Nikhat Zareen (women’s Light Flyweight), Mohammed Hussamuddin (Men’s Featherweight) and Nitu Ghanghas (Women’s Minimumweight) too reached the semifinals.
Amit had won silver in the Light Flyweight category at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.
